Theory Through Composition
Music Theory through Composition is a concept well known as the oldest form of learning music theory (yes, even older than Mozart!) all the way through the present day. Abandoning worksheets and quizzes, students are encouraged to take music theory straight from lecture to the page through measurable assignments from simple melodies to multi-instrument arrangements. Young musicians who have been playing their main instrument or voice for at least 3 years will dive into compound meter, interval structures, melodic structures, diatonic harmony, and basic analysis. Campers will try their skills at arranging for 2-3 instruments in the form of melody, harmony, and chordal accompaniment.
