Music Works NW Certificates

Starting in 2009 Music Works NW will issue certificates to honor the hard work our students put into their music lessons and to recognize outstanding performances by our regular students outside of Music Works NW. These certificates can serve as confirmations of musical study for college and other applications. Below we have listed the criteria for earning each type of certificate.

Certificate of Completion

Music Works NW will present yearly Certificates of Completion for students who attend at least 85% of their lessons during the full Music Works NW academic year. The certificates will be presented to students at the end of the school year in June.

Certificate of Exceptional Performance

Under the recommendation of their instructor, regular Music Works NW students who have been recognized externally by winning at least one official competition (as accepted by the Artistic Director at Music Works NW) will be presented with a Certificate of Exceptional Performance. Unlike the Certificate of Completion, the Certificate of Exceptional Performance can be received on an ad hoc basis at any given time. In addition to receiving the Certificate of Exceptional Performance, students' names will be listed on the Music Works NW website as well as in the Music Works NW lobby for at least one year.

Facluty Select Concert Certificate

The Faculty Select Series features students from Music Works NW who have been hand selected by their instructor to perform. Students who participate are making great progress in their lessons and are deserving of a performance that gives them special attention. This concert provides a first step into the world of formal evening performances for students, giving them a goal for performing with other students who are well prepared. These concerts are ideal to give students who are active in festivals and contests an extra performance experience. Students will be presented with a certificate at the end of each performance.

The issuance of the Certificate of Completion and Certificate of Exceptional Performance is not retroactive so we can, unfortunately, not provide certificates for past years or achievements. We appreciate your understanding and look forward preparing and presenting many certificates from this point forward.
