Music Works is a non profit organization. Like other non profits, tuition and fees only cover a portion of the cost of operating the facility. This part of the website is devoted to showing you the many opportunities available to join and support our community. From attending the First Friday Concerts to installing new shelving into a storage area, each avenue is vital.
Music Works is making it possible for hundreds of students to learn and perform music and to play in ensembles. We serve our community by offering music therapy, public concerts, amd more. Our diverse and talented faculty makes it possible for people to enjoy learning music in so many ways.
Every now and then, we all need a little "down" time: time to take stock, address issues head-on, and get some clarity about where we're headed. That's where Music Works Northwest has been this past year. We've taken stock, dealt with some tough issues, and survived with our humor intact and the quality of our programs and offerings better than ever.
But it's not enough to simply survive - we want to thrive. And to do that, we need your help.
Did you know that tuition alone covers only 66% of our program costs? In order to fill this gap we ask that you consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Music Works Northwest Annual Fund to help us reach our 2007-2008 goal of $100,000.
In addition to helping with programming costs, your donation also goes towards tuition assistance and instrument loan programs that benefit people who might not otherwise be exposed to music education. This year, along with your donation, please let us know if you are interested in supporting general programming, tuition assistance, or faculty enhancements.
Music education is not a frivolous, extra-curricular activity. Studies show that music helps students develop skills in math, science and language. It brings us together in community, and improves our ability to listen and express ourselves. It crosses all boundaries of language, age, and ability.
That is what keeps the faculty and staff of Music Works so motivated to provide excellent musical education here on the Eastside.
We're poised and ready to spread the word about our high quality music instruction, music therapy, and recording services. It's time for Music Works Northwest to no longer be a
well-kept secret.
Please give generously to Music Works this year, and please remember to request matching donations if your company supports them.
