At the University of Oregon, guitarist Ryan Richter studied with Mike Denny and Don Latarski. Being largely influenced by Bluegrass and traditional folk, Ryan spent much of his early years crafting his playing/fingerstyle technique to match the rhythms and nuances of Celtic music and Bluegrass banjo. In addition to teaching and playing locally since moving to the Northwest in 2001, Ryan has composed original music for movies and documentaries airing on the Fox and Lifetime networks. He is an active collaborator of several Northwest artists including Music Works faculty band Friends for Heroes.
