Barry Pollack is a nationally recognized musician, teacher and author with decades of experience performing in concert halls, rock concerts, restaurants, clubs, weddings and private parties. He has appeared with the Seattle Symphony, the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, The Portland Opera Company, the Joffrey Ballet and Mikhail Baryshnikov, and was an opening solo act for Ray Charles, Jeff Beck, and Bo Diddley. Barry is the author of Popular Guitar Music, published in 1987 by Prentice-Hall. Popular Guitar Music is the ground-breaking text book which uses extensive transcriptions of actual popular recorded guitar playing to illustrate music theory and authentic guitar techniques. Barry is also the founder and conductor of the Music Works Guitar Orchestra and teaches Adult Group Guitar classes as well as all styles of guitar playing to private students.
