After his solo debut with Günter Schuller and the Spokane Symphony at age sixteen, Jason Moody has studied and performed across the United States and in three continents. Jason has been a soloist with symphony orchestras throughout the northwest, has served as the concertmaster of the Thalia Symphony in Seattle, and is a substitute violinist with the Houston Symphony and the Spokane Symphony. He was a member of the Spoleto USA Festival and the Masters Music Festival in Kazusa, Japan and recently performed and traveled for a month in Chile as a Rotary Foundation ambassador. Jason has appeared on Public Radio several times with performances on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" and NPR's "From the Top" and has been seen on KSPS Public Television’s "Northwest Profiles" and NHK public television in Japan. He maintains an avid interest in Chamber music and has performed with numerous ensembles including the Musiqa New Music Ensemble in Houston, Chamber Music San Juans, and the Spokane String Quartet. Jason holds a Master of Music degree from Rice University and a B.A. in Music from Seattle Pacific University. His principal teachers have been Kelly Farris, Ronald Patterson, Kim Zabelle and Sergiu Luca.
