The 2nd Annual Young Virtuoso Piano Festival will take place on May 2nd, 2009!
The Young Virtuosos Piano Festival provides students of various ages and ability levels the opportunity to not only compete in a nurturing environment, but they also get to meet new friends and gain critical listening and performance skills. The Young Virtuoso Piano Festival is a great festival for students who are new to performing for adjudicators or for students who are preparing for competitions down the road. Participanting students are divided into four age groups. Each group has three winners who each receive a medal and honorable mention certificate. Gold medal winners in each group will be selected to perform at a final recital at the end of the festival.

Festival Rules and Information
- Applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis.
- There are no restrictions on number of participants per teacher.
- Students may only bring original music for the judge. Sorry, no photocopies are allowed.
- Measures must be numbered.
- Music must be performed by memory.
- Once submitted, the student’s program is final; no changes will be allowed.
- Participants should reserve the entire day, May 2 nd from 9 am to 5 pm , for the festival.
- No special scheduling accommodations will be made. Please do not call Music Works NW with scheduling requests.
- Along with the application form and check, students must enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope for their time slot confirmation.
Classification will be based on the student's age on the competition date: May 2, 2009.
Group A: Ages 8 and under
Group B: Ages 9 – 12
Group C: Ages 13 – 15
Group D: Ages 16 – 18
On the application form, please specify the exact timing of the selection(s) to be performed subject to the time limits below.
Group A: Up to 3 minutes total
Group B: Up to 5 minutes total
Group C: Up to 8 minutes total
Group D: Up to 10 minutes total

Additional judicators will be announced later should they be needed.
