Music Works NW was founded in 1966 as the Imperials Drum and Bugle Corps. In 1986 the organization undertook a slightly different role and changed its name to the Imperials Music and Youth Organization.
The Imperials program eventually grew to a point where 160 different sites were used to host programming. By 1998 both the Board and Administration felt that the time had come to consolidate all programming into one location. The organization moved to its current Eastgate/Factoria location and changed its name to Music Works Northwest. Since 1998 the faculty has increased from three members to over fifty professional musicians.
Whether you marched with the Imperials, were a parent
volunteer, or are a former private lessons student, we
want to hear from you.
